Mark Botts & Isaiah Mouw
Mark and Isaiah teamed up in the Spring of 2011 when Isaiah sent a first draft of ALLATOONA LAKE to Mark, for notes. A conversation ensued, and the guys agreed to work together on the rewrites. The result was the revised draft of ALLATOONA LAKE placing as a Quarter-Finalist in the 2012 American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest, a Top 15% Finish in the 2013 Academy Nicholl Screenwriting Competition and a Quarter-Finalist in the 2014 Nashville Film Festival Screenplay Competition. Since then, they have completed dozens of screenplays.
Their most successful screenplay, WHY, ARIZONA, has placed as a Remi Gold Winner in the 2021 WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, a Silver Award Winner and Official Selection in the 2020 L.A. Neo Noir Novel, Film, and Script Festival, Best Unproduced Feature Screenplay Top 20 Finalist and Official Selection in the 2020 FilmQuest Film Festival, an Official Selection to the 2021 Lake Travis Film Festival, an Official Selection to the 2021 Georgia Shorts Film Festival, a Semi-Finalist and Official Selection in the 2021 Bare Bones International Film Festival, an Official Selection in the 2020 Austin Revolution Film Festival, a Semi-Finalist in the 2021 Los Angeles Crime & Horror Screenplay Contest, a Semi-Finalist in the 2020 Screencraft Screenplay Competition, a Semi-Finalist in the Filmmatic Screenplay Awards, a Quarter-Finalist in the 2020 Big Break Screenwriting Contest, a Quarter-Finalist in the 2020 Finish Line Script Competition, a Quarter-Finalist in the 2020 Scriptation Showcase Script Competition, a Second Round Finalist in the 2020 Austin Film Festival Script Competition and many more.
Their most recent screenplay, LILY OF THE VALLEY, was recently voted script of the month gold medal for Talentville. In addition, it was named Best Dark Comedy Winner and Official Selection to the 2021 Austin After Dark Film Festival, a Best Screenplay Finalist and Official Selection to the 2021 Bare Bones International Film Festival, an Official Selection to the 2021 Lake Travis Film Festival, an Official Selection to the 2021 San Angelo Revolution Film Festival, and an Official Selection to the 2021 Portland Comedy Film Festival. Though they live states apart, these guys burn up the text messages, phone calls, and emails. And they get their work done amidst full-time and part-time jobs and families. So, they’re busy. But they love movies. They love writing. And, yes, they love rewriting, too.
